Whether you catch them playing on a street corner or a big stage, there is something that you will remember about the Wilsons. The joyful sounds of their music will linger with you long afterwards, and you will find yourself smiling as you recall Cara belting out a tune while her family drives the rhythm behind her.
Both professional musicians, Andrew and Deanna taught private lessons and performed part-time in Washington State. In 2012, they decided to take the family on an extended road trip to expose the kids to all kinds of music and help them grow as musicians. After nearly 4 years on the road, performing nationwide and then as part of the band in 2 different dinner theaters in Arizona and Wyoming, the family settled in the Austin, Texas area in 2016. There, they teach music at their family owned music school, Wilson School of Strings, and perform locally as a family group and individually with other bands.
Their music is a high energy mix, covering artists from Louis Armstrong to the Beatles; Bob Wills to Merle Haggard . They bring a Hillbilly Jazz flavor to it all, with soaring fiddles, tasty guitar licks, rhythmic drums, rocking bass, and honky-tonk piano. Everyone in the family contributes their unique talents and personalities, making for an exciting show.
